Candles Are Lit
Several candles will burn for a day or two. Wouldn't you like to view them ? Look over to your left under my picture, you will see 'Light A Candle'. Please view and light your own. The last time there were several candles lit from various Family members. Friends, if you read or follow this blog please light a candle. My goal is for a page of candles be lit as we pass from one year to the next. May this coming year rain blessings, truth, and success to the readers of The Tyree Tree Family Blog. Happy New Year !

The Magi Visit the Messiah
1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magia]">[a] from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.’b]">[b]”
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

Just A little
Ok, when I saw these, I tried to ignore them. I never had a thing for allot of sweets. I still don’t, but this year I have seen some of the best looking confections I’ve ever seen. I have to give the culinary folks some props. This will make you stop dead in your tracks and start dreaming about how good this will taste in your mouth. Just in case you don’t recognize, these are cookies.
When I saw the price of this really small yellow cake, I could resist. But I’m telling you it was hard ! Man this looked good.

Good News
As you know, I am an advocate of The Parkinson's Foundation. I just checked their site. It is in our Family Links section. Any pledge made before December 31, 2010 will be matched. I can only suggest how important it is for the research to continue. Just as I can only suggest a pledge, even just $5.00. Well, I'd also like to just suggest a pledge to any of your favorite charity organizations, in the name of a love one, a family member, a good friend or whomever. There are many charities in our 'Family Links' section of this Blog. Please take a minute to check out what these Charities have to offer. Although these are tough times we exist in I decided to pledge $2. 00 a pay to Charities associated with my job. I believe one is United Way. I just felt the need to do it, and I hope you will too. I was able to volunteer for my neighborhood food bank a couple of years back. It was so instantly gratifying. You might be surprised at how blessed you are, if you see people suffering and hungry in these times. Please help. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

Alberta Clipper Sails Through
It's cold and we're in the middle of a rather large 'Lake Effect' Storm Watch until Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Conditions exist for 2 to 3 feet of snow and a blizzard in some affected areas.
It just so happens I'm on 'Holiday Leave' sitting cozily in front of the fireplace. As you can see from the picture, this storm is broken for now but is expected to combine and cover the whole Great Lakes Region. Just think, Winter doesn't start for a couple of weeks.
This is What it looks like on the ground, for now.
That 90 degree Summer we just had sure is a beautiful memory. I wish I could have had holiday south of the Mason/Dixon line.

Sit By The Fire Place
Please take a moment, and sit with me by the fireplace. Could you imagine our conversation? Maybe the room might be filled with not just our conversation, but maybe more and more people will join us and the room will not only be joyful, but warm and full. The sports channel is on be we're not watching it. It's right before the Christmas holiday. Now imagine a family member, or good friend about to enter the Holiday season alone. It could be a pretty lonely time for some. Just a little small conversation may brighten their season. And don't forget to smile. There's a place on this blog to click. It's called 'light a candle.'
