Remembering MLK

Greetings Family. This is my tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Sr. Well 41 years ago I was 6 years old. I was a child so I didn't realise the history I'd lived through even then. I saw the aftermath of the Hough Riots here in Cleveland. I remember watching TV, and seeing black people being sprayed with water cannons while they protested for equality. Carl B Stokes was our Mayor, the first black Mayor of a large metropolitan city. The strides made by the campaign of Dr. King were working. I saw race relations ease. Later I could be a Manager in restaurants, not just in Cleveland, but in northeast Ohio also. I was still the "colored Manager" when I worked in certain suburbs. It was more like ooo a colored manager!
Any way I admired the words of Senator Louis Stokes when he said, "he never thought he'd live to see the end of Apartheid in Africa." I didn't think I would live to see or realise it either. There were black presidents on TV and in the movies, but never did I think it possible to have such an incredible President Elect (Barack Obama) in my lifetime. We have overcome, now lets live the dream. A salute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. Happy Birthday Dr. King Until next time, take care.

This is what I'm talking about! Help from LeBron

Hello Family. I just got this from yahoo today. Although it's just a fantasy, it would be nice for some one to put some fire under the Brown's rear ends!

At wide receiver, LeBrown James

CLEVELAND (AP)—LeBron James once dreamed of playing in the NFL. He did for 30 seconds.
In a television commercial debuting Sunday for State Farm Insurance, James, a former star wide receiver in high school, suits up for the Cleveland Browns.
A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, James wears a brown No. 23 Browns jersey with “LeBron” on the back. The spot was recently shot at the University of Akron’s indoor training facility and will be shown will during Sunday’s AFC and NFC championship games.
This will be the second commercial James has done with State Farm, which signed him to a sponsorship last year hoping he could help the company attract young adult policyholders.
“He is one of the few sports stars who transcends his sport as a pop culture icon,” said State Farm’s Mark Gibson, an assistant vice president of advertising. “He has helped connect people to State Farm who may not have been connected with us.”
James also has done public service announcements and appearances for the insurance provider.
At 6-foot-8 and 250 pounds, James often describes himself as a football player. He was an All-Ohio selection at Akron’s St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and still plays flag football at the school during the off season.
James said he had input into the commercial, which shows using some of his basketball skills to help the Browns on the football field.
“I chose what team I wanted to wear, what I wanted to do and which routes I wanted to run,” he said.
James has been criticized by Cleveland fans for supporting the Cowboys and New York Yankees. He triggered a public outcry when he wore a Yankees cap to an Indians playoff game two years ago and again to a Browns home game against Dallas last season .
So was it tough pulling on an orange Browns helmet and not one with a star on it?
“No,” James said with a wink. “I love the Browns.”

Well I actually love the Brown's too, but its been rough to stay in love with them recently.

A Prayer For Our President Elect

Hello Family and Greetings. Brought to us by a friend of the family.
Lord,We pray for optimum health, mental clarity and political prosperity for President Barack Obama. We pray that what he lacks in political 'experience' you make up for with supernatural wisdom and power. We also pray that when his enemies come upon him they will stumble and fall; and that your love will fill his heart to the end that 'Your will' will be done through him. We pray mightily for his protection. As we plead the Blood of Jesus over him and his family, we ask you to dispatch legions of angels to protect them from all hurt, harm, danger, and from all accidents and incidents as he is next President of these United States of America .We thank and praise you for answering our sincere prayers.
In Jesus' Name, AMEN.
Our 44th President Elect, Barack Obama has shown great promise, and great patience in wanting our middle class to thrive and be as abundant as possible. With this being said here is an economic stimulus plan that is affordable, and reasonable enough that everyone seeing it, and desiring to do well will in fact do so. It will help most middle class families, and singles to enjoy the tax breaks offered to those in big business without costing them anymore than three dollars and fifty cent total, while generating additional income to your household. This may be the true blessing that you have been asking for. It's amazing how we sometimes walk away or overlook the blessings which God has put in our path. Until next time, take care.

Browns have been FIRED

Hello family. My headlines got your attention. Not only have the head coach and general manager been fired, I fired the whole team and am currently looking for a replacement so that I will continue to be a football fan. I cant go to Detroit or Baltimore so I'm taking suggestions. We need some winning going on, and next season too! Until next time.
P.S. can we make the Cavs our football team?

Keep Your Head Up !

Hello , greetings family. I have to tell you the Holidays can not only be draining, but for some people the season is a time of depression and sorrow. I'm not saying I'm one of them but I know a few that have grave problems around holiday time. Be it for what ever reason, missing a departed loved one, the state of our economy, or just the state of our personal affairs. This time of year can be rough. Please keep in mind as you may be OK, a friend or a family member might not. Don't forget to take the time, especially family, to call, write, email, pray, or whatever. It may just make someones day to hear your voice, or just to know you care. It's that simple. I have a really good friend that gets depressed and lots of time I don't know what to do. So I call, or email, and in this case I can drop by and spend some time. Maybe you don't realise how much it can mean for this simple act of love. Until next time, please keep this in mind.
